Alright, getting back on track here–the third ello pack I busted was another pack of 1983 Topps:

1983 Topps Cello Pack of Football Cards

The results:

#317 Tony Nathan
#82 Mark Lee
#357 Mel Blount
1983 Topps Gary Johnson Football Card
#376 Gary Johnson (Pro Bowl DT, despite weighing just 252 pounds)
#291 Henry Marshall
#3 Dan Fouts Record Breaker
1983 Topps Roosevelt Leaks
#225 Roosevelt Leaks (Maybe someone should fix that? I’m here all week…)
#251 Lawrence Johnson
1983 Topps Terry Schmidt
#37 Terry Schmidt (looks like the same game as Matt Suehy from the last pack)
#390 Keith Simpson
#302 Ted Hendricks
1983 Topps Danny White Football Card
#56 Danny White (was going to make fun of the QB-P position–but then I looked at the stats–I had no idea he was actually their full time punter)
#25 Sticker Insert – John Riggins
#171 Renaldo Nehemiah
#101 Randy Holloway
#323 David Woodley (last Dolphins QB before Dan Marino)
#147 Max Runager
1983 Topps Uwe von Schamann
#322 Uwe von Schamann (there aren’t enough kickers with names like that any more)
#151 Roynell Young
1983 Topps Larry Brown
#359 Larry Brown (I guess your DL can be 250 pounds when your Pro Bowl Tackles are only 255)
#326 Pete Brock
#57 Randy White (another 250 pound Pro Bowl DT)
#72 Leonard Thompson
#167 Dwight Hicks
1983 Topps Sammy White
#107 Sammy White (I did not remember Sammy being that small)

All in all, no real stars in the pack, beyond the Dan Fouts Record Breaker (if you’re curious, the record was most career games 300+ yards passing, at 30–I’m going to go out on a limb and say that one’s been broken).

There were, however, three guys named White in the pack (one of whom didn’t really live up to his name), and one guy named Brown (who did).  And a good time had by all!

Up next: A pack of the first football card set I ever collected…
